Getting Started - Before Arrival
Welcome and congratulations on your assignment to the Pentagon or NCR! Here in the NCR, you’ll have the chance to explore the unique culture and see what the area has to offer. Head over to the hills or the beaches of Virginia and Maryland to get some rest and relaxation in both the summer and winter time. In the local area, you can visit many historical sites, open markets, and many other year-round events with the community.
Being centrally located, an hour or two drive, train ride or flight will lead you to many sites to see and explore, to include New York City, Statue of Liberty, and Atlantic City. Washington DC, the stunning capital of the US, has many cultural areas to visit, places to shop, and restaurants to eat authentic food from around the world. There are also many markets and festivals year-round, so make sure to look out for those!
It may feel like an overwhelming transition to the NCR, but soon you will be settled and learn all the ins-and-outs of living in this busy area, while getting the opportunity to experience new adventures. Your sponsor will help you settle in, and before you know it, you’ll be part of NCR community.
